Vintage

I made this using a friends stamp. Its a Sarah Kay stamp and it's called 'Writing to Grandma'. I don't usually do vintage cards but I think this is a really sweet image and I really love the blue/ brown colour combination.

Under The Sea

Well I enjoyed 'Happy Stampers' at Port Sunlight so much that I've got the crafting bug back. I couldn't wait to try out my new stamps and the stampendous embossing enamel I bought. I love the effect its created on this card and can't wait to use it again. I stamped the mermaid image with memento ink and coloured her with promarkers. I've decoupaged her tail  and used Wow embossing powder to create the look of shiny scales. The tail has been attached with foam pads and the edges stuck down to create a 3d effect.  The background has been created using distress inks to give a watery feel. The embossing enamel has been applied in several layers and mica fragments applied while still hot. The card has been completed with the addition of pears, shells and mosaic tiles stuck down with glossy accents. I've also use a strip of netting and a string of pearls to finish off.

Bird Cage

Thought I'd try something a bit different after I went to 'Happy Stampers' rubber stamp show yesterday in Port Sunlight, Wirral. I bought this beautiful stamp from Dimension Stamps and, after watching their You Tube tutorial, had a go at creating this. I've tried to add my own mark on the card and changed a few things. The stamped images were heat embossed using clear pigment ink and black embossing powder directly onto the background paper. The images have been cut out and the bird cage attached to the flourish with jump rings. The flourish is attached to the card using foam pads. I had difficulty getting the right colour on the card candy -they looked a bit flat, so,  they have been heat embossed with black embossing powder also - a bit tricky, but worth it! Hope you like it.

So So Sweet!

Hi there everyone. Had a great week this week. Firstly,  I found this lovely Lavinia Pine tree stamp waiting for me in the post when I came home on Friday! I was lucky enough to win this from Creative cardmaking magazine back in November, so that was a nice surprise, and secondly I made top 3 in the latest Nutcrafters challenge.

Golfing Al

2 cards in 2 days, unheard of! I made this card surprisingly quick with the Nutcrafters challenge in mind, 'anything goes'. I paper pieced the stamped 'golfing Al' image and coloured with promarkers and copics. I have used paper from ' Lets fly away' paper stack which came free with Quick cards magazine this month. I really like the clouds and hot air ballon images that came with this pack.

Favourite LOTV stamp

Hi Everyone. I was so pleased to make Nutcrafters top 3, last post, with my New Years card, so thank you to Nutcrafters for that! I was getting short of inspiration so did a little blog hopping yesterday and found this lovely sketch on Bev Rochesters blog. Bev has some great tutorials on her blog and absolutely beautiful creations,  and so, as I need help with  my colouring, 
watched her colouring tutorial. My colouring isn't great yet but I'm hoping it's improving with practice!!! I was pleased with the result of this card. I find sketches really help with inspiration when you're stuck for ideas. I didn't have any paper doilies when I looked through my stash and came across an old fiskars punch that I haven't used for ages. I think it makes a great doily, so I'll be using these old punches again! Sometimes things you think you won't ever use again come up trumps. My motto -never throw anything away, it might come in useful. Unfortunately thats why my house is such a mess, LOL!!!!!

Holiday Cheer!

Hi everyone. I've just completed a marathon 24 Christmas cards in the last 2 nights! I used Sizzix Hero Arts stamp and die cut set (657780) ' Holiday Cheer'  which was an early Christmas present from my gorgeous friend Linda. How kind is she? and so thoughtful, so thanks Linda, xxx. This set made it very easy to complete a batch of cards quickly -though I took forever as I kept gazing at my lovely papers! Anyway I've posted a picture of the completed cards here. Card for a child

Good evening everyone. I made this card today using the free digi download from Nutcrafters. I am entering it into their challenge -a card for a child. With that in mind I've gone all girly. The main colour is pink with lots of bling. I love getting all girly and sparkly -difficult in my house with all the boys and testosterone around! They'll all be finding bits of glitter and gems in their hair and clothes tomorrow- lol!!! Hope you like it....

Embossed Penguin Card

Evening all! Its late but just had to catch up with strictly, x factor and I'm a celebrity! Hope you like this card. I made it originally for the crafty pads 'white on white' challenge but missed the deadline! whoops! I also wanted to use pink gems sketch. I found white on white quite difficult as I kept wanting to add some colour! I tried to keep it to a minimum and have mainly used embossing for texture. Christmas Easel Card

Continuing on the Christmas theme...I really need to get my Christmas cards done, I send so many each year and can't believe that Christmas is now only weeks off. I have created this card using the following:

• White card blank 14.5cm x 14.5 cm
• Red, green and pink card to matt and layer image
• Dovecraft Christmas Fancy papers
• Images stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black ink
• Personal Impressions Christmas Bears, by Lindsay Mason
• Great Impressions G350 stamp       
• Coloured with promarkers in: Pine, Warm Grey 2, Powder blue, Apple, Cocktail Pink, Tulip yellow, Sandstone and Henna.
• Embellishments: Dovecraft Fancy Snow self adhesive ribbons, Woodware Fluffy Stuff, Flower soft -Polar white, Glossy accents,  Cristal Glamour dust, Card designer -Laser cut snowflakes and punched snowflake using x-cut snowflake punch, Papermania shimmer dots.

I constructed the easel card and used the backing papers as a background. I stamped the Teddy Bear stamp then masked it to stamp over the village scene. Next I matted and layered the stamped and coloured images onto pink then red and green card. I used  ribbon wrapped around the matted and layered base and attached to the card. I also attached a piece of ribbon as show to the base and stamped a sentiment onto a rectangle of white card and attached this with sticky fixers to give some dimension and also so that the card will stand up as shown in the picture. I used glossy accents on to the sledge to give it some shine and paper pieced the bears hat and scarf with co-ordinating paper. I gave the impression of fur on his hat by using flower soft. I used fluffy stuff on the house roofs and the trees to look like snow, I glittered the laser cut snowflakes with glamour dust and punched a silver snowflake out of paper with my punch. All of the snowflakes have been embellished with shimmer dots. The whole card is quite glittery although it may be difficult to see in the picture! I love the colours of this card although I wasn't sure at first as they are not the usual Christmas colours. I am going to enter this card into the following challenges:

LOTV challenge 118

Hi there. Have had a busy day today, Played golf this morning and still managed to find the time to  make this card. I'm going to enter it into LOTV challenge 118 and 'anything goes' at sweet stamping challenge blog. I think the image is just so cute. I bought this recently when I visited Happy Stampers north west craft fair in Port Sunlight. Hope you like it.

I need to get started on all those Christmas cards and haven't left myself much time. I was looking for a card to make that was quick and simple to produce. I made a 14.5cm square card blank and matted and layered with dark green card and the patterned paper. Ribbons were wrapped around the card as shown in the picture and secured with double sided tape. Next I stamped the Christmas tree stamp onto white card and using my sizzix big shot and spellbinders die templates cut it out and embossed it. I then matted this onto a larger scalloped circle in dark green. I coloured the tree with promarkers and highlighted the mistletoe with glamour dust. Finally I stamped a sentiment onto white card, cut out using a small scalloped circle spellbinders template and affixed to the card. Hope you like it. x
